A Step Ahead: Pretty Easter Party Supplies to Stash for Later
These table toppers will have you looking like Little Bo Peep, Sans Lost Sheep
One of my favorite things to do besides buy shoes is to plan parties for the littlest members of my family. From over the top themes like Elle’s Super Sweet Sixth to more tame morning-of tabletops, creating magic for them is something that I both enjoy and excel at.
In an attempt to share more of how my process and planning works in real-time, here’s what to order to be a step ahead of Easter and Passover planning. Of course, putting your own spin on things and mixing and matching with what you already own is key to ensuring it feels like *you* and your family. Below, items that are inspiring.
If all else fails, throw some flowers and your kids on the table…also a very cute take.
A Touch of Lace
When I planned Elle’s first birthday party, my goal was to have the decor be elegant enough to work for a bridal or baby shower too. This is how I feel about the lace collection that Meri Meri just launched. It’s sophisticated yet sweet, and a dream for spring soirees.
Lovely Liberty
From pinwheels to bow garlands to party crowns, this sweet accenting accessory is a way to add a nod of English countryside to your event without being too literal.
Big Bow Peep
These gorgeous handmade bows are just the way to accent a wall behind your table, touch up a tabletop or beautify a buffet. They also work well for a baby or bridal shower.
The Prettiest Placemats
If you’re setting the table on a school morning, these placemats are an easy to way to add spring seasonality and sweetness. I launched this collaboration with Tricia Lowenfield when I was heavily pregnant with Jennings (who is turning five next month) and they work as well now as they did then for this next chapter of children (I have lived two lives it feels like). On my way to order one for George now. Would get in the queue soon, too, to ensure you have by mid-March!
Gorgeous Gingham Tablecloths
The easiest way to say spring without uttering a word, this pattern is perfect, especially in pastel. Adore that these are *paper* which is extremely hard to find, and wonderful for class parties and picnic tables alike.
A Little LoveShackFancy
This works well whether you have a tween (who may be on the front end of her LoveShackFancy awareness journey) or are a mom who appreciates pink, blue and bows. Fun fact: I interned at Cosmopolitan Magazine in 2006 when Rebecca Hessel (not yet Cohen) was the Associate Fashion Editor (that was the summer I learned what a Goyard bag was from Rebecca herself). Watching the brand explode has been the most fun, and we are big fans.
Ending is never easy, so in closing I will share that sometimes, try as I might to think of it all, I forget things too. Often, in fact.
The one thing that falls off from time to time? Fresh flowers. They make everything prettier, and in my opinion can throw a table if they’re the wrong color. So, be sure to plan ahead (again, note to self). Whether it’s a bouquet from your garden, the grocery store or Grace Rose Farm…plan well and you’ll be set for spring!
